On October 31, 2020, the children from the Kindergarten affiliated with Zhongzheng Elementary School, accompanied by the kindergarten principal, teachers and parents, visited Yuanli Police Station of Tongxiao Precinct for their trick-or-treat experience at 9:30AM. The group, consisting of approximately 80 people including the children, was greeted cordially by the police officers, who had fun with the kids and gave them an informative holiday about what the police do on a daily basis to protect people and keep traffic in order. The kids were also acquainted with some ABCs about traffic safety rules and anti-fraud knowledge and went home with basic ideas about crime prevention, having spent a practical yet fun holiday with the police.

Upon entry into the police station, the kids were kind of intimidated. Thanks to the instructions led by the school principal, the kids loosened up and began chanting trick or treat with thrill, warming up the atmosphere. In return, the police gave away candies and cookies to the youngsters. A child-oriented officer even treated the children yoghurt drink. Both adults and children spent a wonderful holiday together, which lasted 40 minutes or so. They then called it a day and waved goodbye to each other.

Chao-yin Zheng, the principal of the participating kindergarten, appreciated the officers for their time and patience with the children on an interesting holiday like this. He thanked the police and regarded them as the warm, kind-hearted “nannies” for all citizens. In the end, group photographs were taken, in which the kids smiled innocently, leaving wonderful, precious memory.
