Sudan Red Crisis Continues: Miaoli County Temporarily Halts Use of Chili and Curry Powder in School Lunches

To uphold campus food safety, Miaoli County has instructed schools to temporarily cease using chili and curry powder as seasoning ingredients in school lunches. Subsequent action will be contingent upon the investigation findings of the Ministry of Health and Welfare regarding a food safety incident. Furthermore, the Education Department, the Public Health Bureau, and other relevant agencies will continue to conduct inspections of school lunches. These inspections will prioritize certain items to ensure the overall safety and quality of school lunches. The Education Department has mandated that all schools regularly monitor the latest updates on the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration website to prevent the procurement and use of any potentially dangerous ingredients.
