Till March 2005, there are 489,192 vehicles in Miaolli County. There are 181,930 automobiles and 307,262 motorcycles among these vehicles. There are 325 automobiles and 549 motorcycles per thousand people. Each household has 1.16 automobiles and 1.97 motorcycles in average. Price Index: Consumer Price Index (CPI) in Taiwan area is 101.95 in March, 2005. Compared with previous month, the CPI has increased 0.30%; compared with March, 2004, the CPI has increased 2.31%. Wholesale Price Index (WPI) in Taiwan area is 109.47 in March, 2005. Compared with previous month, the WPI has increased 0.75%; compared with March, 2004, the WPI has increased 1.99%.


Average Land Price: 


Till September 2004, Jhuolan Township had the highest land price for residential area among all the Township/City which was NT$29,257 per square meter; the second was Miaoli City, NT$28,601 per square meter; the third was Jhunan Township, NT$28,403 per square meter. Till September 2004, Miaoli City had the highest land price for commercial area among all the Township/City which was NT$63,317 per square meter; the second was Toufen Township, NT$59,470 per square meter; the third was Tongsiao Township, NT$56,314 per square meter. Till September 2004, Miaoli City had the highest land price for industrial area among all the Township/City which was NT$20,545 per square meter; the second was Sanyi Township, NT$13,847 per square meter; the third was Gongguan Township, NT$12,969 per square meter.
