Miaoli County, Hsinchu County, Hsinchu City, and Hsinchu Science Park have joined forces for the first time to host a cross-county singles event, "Love in Bloom," which kicked off in the morning of February 22 at Sanyi West Lake Resortopia. The event featured a series of exclusive perks designed to help love blossom beyond simply gathering and future dates. Miaoli County Deputy Magistrate Chiu Li-Li encouraged participants to embark on their own romantic journeys and develop meaningful connections in this picturesque resort, where the scent of love lingers in the air.

To create meaningful connections, the three counties of Hsinchu and Miaoli carefully chose February 22, a date symbolizing "pairs in love," as the perfect occasion for this singles' social gathering. The event attracted nearly 800 applicants, but only 160 were selected to participate in the matchmaking activities. Through thoughtfully designed interactive games and engaging networking sessions, the organizers provided a fun, relaxed, and heartwarming social platform for attendees to mingle and connect.

At today's kickoff ceremony for the singles networking event, Miaoli County Deputy Magistrate Chiu Li-Li attended alongside Civil Affairs Director Wu Heng-Chao, Personnel Director Chang Tsui-Fen, and Deputy Director Hsieh Tung-Ho. Also present were Deputy Director Lo Yu-Chu of the Hsinchu County Government Civil Affairs Department, Deputy Director Hung Ming-Shih of the Hsinchu City Government Civil Affairs Department, Deputy Director Hu Shih-Min of the Hsinchu Science Park Bureau, and Director Lu Ping-Chih of the Allied Association for Science Park Industries. Deputy Magistrate Chiu presented bouquets to the male and female representatives and awarded the "Romantic Schokolake One-Day Trip" matchmaking prize to officially launch the event. She extended her best wishes to all participants, hoping they would find life partners and embark on a joyful and fulfilling future.

Deputy Magistrate Chiu Li-Li remarked that out of over 800 applicants, only 160 had the opportunity to meet here today, making this a truly special way to meet. The event was specifically scheduled for February 22—a date symbolizing harmony and lasting prosperity for couples. Furthermore, the chosen venue, West Lake Resortopia, well reflects happiness and wellbeing. With the perfect alignment of time, place, and people, Deputy Magistrate Chiu encouraged participants to seize this opportunity for successful matchmaking. She emphasized that everyone present was surrounded by wonderful people, and while they may have been preoccupied with other pursuits in the past, now was the time to take care of themselves and find their significant other. She concluded with a heartfelt wish: "Searching high and low, only to realize that fate has brought you here today. May you all have a beautiful encounter."

On the day of the event, participants quickly got acquainted through icebreaker activities before engaging in a series of interactive experiences. These included Love Connection, DIY Fragrance Blending, Pokémon GO-GO, Love Jenga, West Lake Challenge, and Life Wisdom King—a variety of creative and entertaining games designed to bring people closer through fun and laughter. The atmosphere was lively, filled with constant laughter, as many attendees showcased their sincerity and charm, and formed connections with their ideal match.

As a token of appreciation, the county government prepared "West Lake Treasure Gift Boxes", featuring local agricultural specialties, for all participants. Those who successfully matched received a special "Romantic Schokolake One-Day Trip" as a gift for a future date. Furthermore, if any of the couples decide to take their relationship to the next level—by getting married or starting a family—Miaoli County will offer additional incentives, including sponsoring three couples to participate in the "2026 Hakka Tung Blossom Wedding Ceremony," along with other generous gifts to celebrate their union. Love has found a way to bloom in a sea of flowers at this event, creating cherished memories and marking the beginning of a beautiful life together.
