From December 4 (Wednesday) to December 22 (Sunday), the Culture and Tourism Bureau of Miaoli County is hosting the 2024 "Hakka Radiance: Painting My Hometown" joint exhibition of members of the Miaoli County Western Painting Society at Shan Yue Xuan. The exhibition opens with a ceremony on Sunday, December 8, at 10:00 am at Shan Yue Xuan. All art enthusiasts are warmly invited to attend.
Founded in 1982, the Miaoli County Western Painting Society began with 53 local individuals who were passionate about painting. It remains the only art organization in the county specializing in Western painting. Under the dedicated leadership of past chairpersons including Luo Ri-Huang, Chen Biao-Yin, Jiang Yi-Zhang, and current chairperson Xie Wan-Tong, the society has steadily grown and thrived, and is committed to inspiring hearts through art, enriching lives with beauty, and fostering collaboration and mutual learning with other art organizations to enhance the cultural life of Miaoli residents.
This joint exhibition will feature a variety of works by society members, focusing on themes such as portraits, landscapes, and still-lifes. Through this artwork, viewers will experience the creative inspiration drawn from the artists' personal growth within the context of life in Hakka villages. We sincerely invite art lovers to visit and explore the beautiful fusion of Hakka culture and artistic expression.
During the exhibition, visitors will not only appreciate the meticulously crafted pieces inspired by Hakka culture but can also enjoy several interactive activities. Attendees can vote for their favorite artwork by liking and leaving comments on the artwork description cards, and select the Top 10 Most Popular Artwork. A "Hakka Praise Board" will also be available for guests to pose for photos with their favorite pieces. All art enthusiasts are warmly encouraged to attend and enjoy this cultural feast.
