Using the live streaming on the official fan page of Miaoli Magistrate, Hsu Yao-Chang, led the citizens in experiencing the cultural appeal of the different townships in Miaoli County. Today, the Magistrate visited the Mingde Community in Touwu Township near the Mingde Reservoir and live-streamed an educational video with the community residents and students from Mingde Elementary School on the “bees and environmental education” topic to share the special information on bee restoration.

The Mingde Community started the beekeeping class in 2017 and environmental education and bee restoration have become important characteristics of the community. The community was granted the special 7th Miaoli County Environmental Education Awards and received EPA subsidies after passing the “2020 Community Environment Surveys and Restructuring Program” verification. Accompanied by the secretary-general and volunteers in the community, the Magistrate visited the inventive house-style bee boxes particularly designed by the community residents and developed a profound understanding that the community enthusiastically promoted the environmental greenness to promote honey production and assisted the residents to stop using pesticides in agriculture to build a friendly environment for the survival of bees. Then, the Magistrate assisted as the most professional honey grandpa while leading everyone to view the honey boxes, search for the queen bee, and experience honey shaking personally. The honey also became the big prize of today’s live streaming prize draw.

The Director-General of the Environmental Protection Bureau in Miaoli County Government, Chen Hua-Sheng, stated that small bees are important symbols of the circle of life in nature. Mingde Community not only rearranges the ecological environment but also produces the community industry. It is hoped that humans can live harmoniously with nature and with bees and leave behind the most wonderful environment for their descendants. Visitors welcome to visit Mingde Community and savor the sweetest honey.
