The 12th International Beauty Cup took place on December 10 and 11 at the Miaoli Arena, bringing together representatives from Malaysia, Germany, South Korea, Vietnam, Taiwan, and other countries. This event served as a stage for the unveiling of global innovations in 2025, international academic discussions, and cutting-edge fashion demonstrations, fostering mutual learning and exchange. Deputy County Magistrate Chiu Li-Li attended the event to encourage the judges and contestants, immersing herself in this dazzling aesthetic feast.
Wang Shun-Te, Chairperson of the Taiwanese Association of International Beauty Exchange, expressed gratitude to the Chamber of Commerce for initiating such a large-scale competition and to the Miaoli County Government team for their ongoing collaboration. This international event, now in its 12th year following the renaming to the International Beauty Cup, has been around for 18 years. Wang, a native of Miaoli, has consistently brought this event back to his hometown, showcasing Taiwan’s aesthetic expertise on an international stage as a form of giving back to his community.
On the first day, the event featured an international academic seminar on emerging technologies, corporate procurement collaboration talks, and technical showcases by renowned global beauty professionals. The day concluded with a grand Welcome Night held at the Sanyi West Lake Resortopia. The second day included the official opening ceremony, the beauty and hairdressing competition, and the awards ceremony. This year, the competition gained significant online attention, with enthusiastic participation from numerous teams. The organizers also arranged live-streaming to promote the event, and Deputy Magistrate Chiu Li-Li delivered a speech on camera to extend her greetings.
The opening ceremony welcomed beauty and hairdressing experts from several countries, including South Korea. Deputy Magistrate Chiu Li-Li greeted guests in English and Korean, emphasizing how the venue’s striking presentation highlighted beauty and hairdressing as a vital aspect of lifestyle refinement and a reflection of Taiwan’s economic progress. She noted that the growing focus on aesthetics symbolizes a significant enhancement in living standards. Fascinated by the artistic integration on display, she jokingly offered to model for free, eager to experience the professionals' expertise firsthand.
Earlier in the day, Deputy Magistrate Chiu Li-Li had chaired a mental health conference—a stark contrast to the vibrant atmosphere of the beauty event. Drawing inspiration from the day’s proceedings, she remarked that confidence stems from a polished appearance, which is pivotal for maintaining mental health. She encouraged the public to adopt grooming practices that radiate confidence, as self-assurance naturally fosters a healthy mindset.
Following the opening ceremony, the competition unfolded across various venues, where talented participants from different countries showcased their skills, exchanging insights and techniques. Categories included bridal makeup, 3D eyebrow shading and design, creative hairstyling, semi-permanent makeup, eyelash extensions, and ear-cleaning services certified by IBC International Standards. The event highlighted the latest innovations in beauty and hairdressing while setting new fashion trends, epitomizing the intersection of art and aesthetics.
