The Art of Fine Woodcraft: Chen De-lung Wood Sculpture Solo Exhibition

The Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum is showcasing "The Art of Fine Woodcraft" exhibit  by Chen De-lung on the third floor of Building 2 from now until January 19, 2025. Featuring 65 pieces, this exhibition invites wood sculpture enthusiasts from all backgrounds to experience the beauty of woodcraft. "The Art of Fine Woodcraft" centers on the themes of fruits, vegetables, and insects, presenting series such as "Source," "Mountains and Forests," "Withered Leaves," and "Translucence." Each work is inspired by Chen's careful observation of his surroundings, drawing on the liveliness of nature to transform his reflections into creative expressions. Many of his award-winning pieces from wood sculpture competitions are part of the museum's permanent collection. Chen is also dedicated to promoting and passing on the craft of woodcarving as well as creating pieces of art, participating extensively in the Sanyi Wood Sculpture Museum's creation camps to cultivate new talent, making him a prevalent contemporary wood sculptor with a strong commitment to heritage and craft.

 

With over 30 years' experience in wood sculpture, Chen De-lung began by focusing on the themes of fruits, vegetables, and insects, later evolving his style to prioritize aesthetic expression and precise craftsmanship. Each piece invites viewers to engage, appreciate, and interpret, offering a rich artistic experience. We welcome everyone to join us and immerse themselves in the captivating atmosphere of this art form.
