The Culture and Tourism Bureau of Miaoli County is hosting the "Wandering through Art and Ink" exhibition by artist Lin Miao-hua, on display at Shan Yueh Hsuan from now until October 31. The opening ceremony will be held on Sunday, October 20, at 10:00 am, and all art enthusiasts are cordially invited.
Lin Miao-hua, a calligraphy and painting artist residing in Tainan, was born in 1939 in Toufen City, Miaoli County, and graduated from Taichung Teachers Junior College. After graduation, he was assigned to teach at Tainan School for the Hearing Impaired. The unique environment of this school helped cultivate his distinctive artistic vision, a turning point in his calligraphy and painting career. Lin Miao-hua is deeply versed in ancient Chinese calligraphy and excels in a rare martial art known as "Wanderer’s Fist" (Liu Min Quan). He often merges the art of calligraphy with the flowing movements of Liu Min Quan. These dynamic artistic expressions not only invigorate his martial arts but also elevate his calligraphy to an expert level. His paintings, infused with elements of photography, Western painting, and traditional ink painting, are a harmonious blend of styles.
The "Wandering through Art and Ink" exhibition will feature 60 works, including landscapes (both traditional and creative), flowers, birds, animals, figures, and insects. The diverse styles fully demonstrate the artist's joy and fulfillment in his pursuit of calligraphy and painting, offering a profound artistic experience. Art lovers are invited to immerse themselves in this beautiful feast for the soul.
