The Environmental Protection Department of the Miaoli County Government is hosting a second-hand goods sale and exchange event on Saturday, October 26, 2024, from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Yuanli Wanli Family Park. The public is invited to this environmentally conscious gathering and experience a net-zero, green life through low-carbon practices.
Participants are encouraged to bring unused, unwanted items from their homes to the service counter to give their items a second life. Items to be exchanged will be provided by second-hand goods businesses in the county (for a list of local second-hand exchange stations, please visit the " Happiness Station") and the Yu Da University of Science and Technology. The event will feature booths displaying second-hand items for sale, a variety of activities, and a special second-hand challenge game designed by the Taiwan Toy Library Association. Shoppers who bring their own eco-friendly utensils or make a single purchase of over NT$50 can collect points. Collect six points and customers can redeem promotional items, encouraging attendees to enjoy treasure hunting while supporting a low-carbon, zero-waste lifestyle.
Director of the Environmental Protection Department Chen Hua-sheng emphasized that second-hand exchange events can transform unused items into reusable goods. The department hopes to promote resource recycling, foster a sustainable future, and raise public awareness of environmental issues. For more information about second-hand businesses, please visit the National Second-Hand Treasure Map website.
