To support the diverse development of young people and create a high-quality campus arts and culture environment, the Miaoli County Government is hosting the Graduation Week series of events with the theme of "Leave My Passion In the Summer With the Water Still Icy" from the 24-27 in collaboration with National United University (NUU). Through music performances, market activities, and inter-university exchanges, the event will showcase the creative energy and teamwork of young students, creating unforgettable memories of their youth. Deputy Magistrate Chiu Li-li attended the opening ceremony on the 24th, feeling the creativity and energy of young people. She emphasized that the county government will be a strong support for young people as more is invested to create more job opportunities with the goal of encouraging young people to stay in Miaoli.
The Department of Labor and Youth Development of the Miaoli County Government highlighted that the Graduation Week series of events of NUU were and organized by the Graduates Association, working in combination with student clubs such as the music club, guitar club, and wind band club. Clubs from various schools throughout the county are also invited to the event. The four-day series of events will feature music and dance performances and a specialty market, displaying the abundant creative energy of young students. By supporting large-scale campus events, the county government is promoting the development of youth arts and culture and revitalizing local cultural activity.
Vice President Liu Feng-chin and Dean of Student Affairs of NUU Ben-xuan stated that clubs of the local senior high school and senior vocational school students were invited to perform during the event, providing a platform for exchange among the younger generation, and enhancing inter-school interaction. Events such as this help local students to connect with the university stage in advance, where they can accumulate experience and fully showcase the diverse talent and innovative potential of the younger generation. The highlight of the Graduation Week series of events is the graduation gala on the evening of the 27th, featuring rally performances by renowned artists and bands. Attendees experienced bonded over their love for music with best wishes bestowed on the graduates.
Deputy Magistrate Chiu Li-li, accompanied by Secretary of the Department of Labor and Youth Development Chien Hsien-wen and Secretary of the City Government Chen Hao, attended the opening ceremony of the NUU Graduation Week series of events this morning. Guided by Vice President Liu Feng-chin and Dean of Student Affairs Lin Ben-xuan, she visited the specialty market where she commended the promotion of Miaoli indigenous totems to everyday necessities, and the number of items donated by graduates sold at low prices. She also noted the game of magnetic fish, which she thought could be promoted at community care centers to benefit senior citizens as they age as it requires good use of hands and minds.
Chiu Li-li stated that what is truly fulfilling and exciting about university life is not just classes and exams, but young people finding things they genuinely enjoy enough to stay up all night practicing a performance, or working tirelessly with a group of friends, wholeheartedly embracing life in their young years. She believes that years later when we look back, what we will truly remember is not our grades, but the days spent sweating, staying up late, and laughing together.
Deputy Magistrate Chiu Li-li emphasized that the county government team, led by Magistrate Chung Tung-chin, has always placed great importance on youth policies. It is her belief that the genuine future of a city is not limited to how fast it develops, but whether its youth are willing to stay. The county government has therefore promoted youth entrepreneurship in recent years, encouraged participation in performances, and provided career support, hoping to help more young people find their stage and see their future in Miaoli.
